Cavities are the most common infectious disease in children. One third of all out-patient operations in hospitals are for dental treatment, same number as surgery for tonsils. Cavities are five times more common than asthma.

If you don’t have good quality X-rays, then you do not have a complete dental examination.
The cavities were there six months ago, however no one had X-rays to see them.

Root canal treatment saves the tooth and allows it to stay in place until the permanent tooth is ready to take its place at ages 12 to 14.
Loosing front teeth early has NO long term side effects on permanent teeth. Loosing back teeth early DOES have long term consequences on permanent teeth. That’s why we place
spacers in the back not in the front.

Eventually the acid attack creates a hole or a cavity.

Although the baby teeth normally last until 12 or 14 years of age, they play an important role.
Baby teeth help children speak, smile and chew properly. They also hold the space for permanent teeth.
